Frequently Asked Questions
We are located at 107 E US Hwy 69 in Claycomo, just minutes from Kansas City, Liberty, and the surrounding areas. We are located on the second floor of our building, which is right next to the Claycomo city hall / police department building.
Absolutely! We offer same day walk-in elopements seven days a week or you may schedule your elopement for another day. Please call to check availability and schedule your walk-in elopement for today or another day.
We offer everything from 10-15 minute intimate walk-in "courthouse style" weddings to full customizable ceremonies with up to 50 guests. We also perform vow renewals, commitment ceremonies, and ceremonies for couples needing a ceremony in the United States prior to having a destination wedding out of the country.
Our venue has multiple rooms that may be used for events including wedding receptions, bridal and baby showers, parties-birthday, engagement, anniversary, retirement, graduation, quinceanera, bar mitzvah, bat mitzvah, other family celebrations, and company events.

Since we do not lock customers into specific time slots or specific amounts of time, we do not use an online booking system. Contact us to check availability and book your walk-in elopement, wedding ceremony, or event. Walk-in ceremonies take approximately 10-15 minutes. All other wedding ceremonies, receptions, and events are paid for by the hour and may be booked for 1-12 hour time slots.
The wedding ceremony fee allows use of the ceremony space as well as the bride and groom dressing rooms. If you book a reception or event, the additional fee includes use of the fully-equipped kitchen and larger rooms for setup and serving of food as well as use of our ten 6' tables, seating for 50, white tablecloths, and centerpieces. You may also use your own tables, chairs, tablecloths, centerpieces, and decorations.
We have over 15 colors of floral centerpieces, table runners, and altar decorations that you may choose from and use. You may also use your own floral arrangements and decorations for a wedding, reception, or any other event. Decorations that attach to permanent structures (walls, doors, ceilings) are not allowed.
Yes. We perform walk-in ceremonies seven days a week from 9 am to 7 pm, but you will need to make an appointment. We do same-day appointments for walk-in "courthouse style" weddings based on availability or you may schedule your walk-in or larger ceremony for a future date.
Yes, you may bring up to four guests in addition to your two witnesses over the age of 18. If you don't have your own witnesses, we can provide them for you for an additional $50 fee.
Two witnesses over the age of 18 must attend your walk-in elopement or full ceremony and sign your marriage license. You are welcome and encouraged to bring your own witnesses. If you need us to supply your witnesses, an additional $50 fee will apply.
Absolutely! You may book our venue for just a wedding ceremony, just a reception, or both.
Absolutely! Our officiants / staff members would be more than happy to take a few photos for you. If you need more extensive photography services for your ceremony or event, we suggest you hire a photographer or ask a guest to take photos for you.
You will have to apply for a marriage license in any Missouri county's Recorder of Deed's office. A license applied for in any county in Missouri is valid for a ceremony that takes place anywhere in Missouri. For example, you may get your license in Jackson County and have your ceremony in Clay County, Platte County, or any other county in Missouri. A marriage license is good for 30 days after it is issued. The fee varies by county, but is usually around $50. Contact the Recorder of Deed's office where you plan to apply for the exact fee as well as what documentation they require. Bring your license with you to the ceremony to be completed, and we will return it to the county Recorder of Deed's office for you. If you plan to get married in a state other than Missouri, you will need to apply in that state for your license.
We have seating for 50 guests.
The venue fee does include the services of one of our ordained ministers to officiate your ceremony. However, you are absolutely welcome to use your own officiant.
The venue fee does include the use of our stereo and our traditional wedding music. However, you are more than welcome to use our equipment if you want to provide your own music for a wedding, reception, or any other event. With our stereo, you may use your phone, flash drive, or CD for your music, or just use the radio.
Yes, we do have standard vows for both religious and non-religious ceremonies. You are also welcome to use your vows or a combination or your vows and ours--even for walk-in ceremonies. It's your day and we want to help make it as special as possible for you, including working with you to customize the vows you use at your ceremony.
Absolutely. You may use your own officiant, music, flowers, caterer, photographer, chairs and tables, decorations, etc. whether they are provided by you or your vendors.
Yes, alcohol may be served at your wedding, reception, or event. However, alcohol may not be sold on the premises under any circumstances.
No, we'll do all of the cleaning for you at no extra charge!
No, we do not require cleaning fees or security deposits.
We accept cash, money orders, cashier's checks, debit cards, and most major credits cards. There is a 3% processing fee for payments made by debit or credit card. To make payments by cash, money orders, or cashier's checks, contact us for more information.
We require a 50% deposit at the time of the booking to reserve the venue for a full wedding ceremony, reception, or event. We do not require a deposit for our walk-in weddings.
The remaining balance is due no later than 14 days before your event. If you book your event less than 14 days before the date, then the full fee is due at the time of booking.
No. Since we reserve a date and time exclusively for your ceremony or event, we do not offer refunds.
Yes, Missouri requires sales tax to be paid on venue rentals, including wedding venues. Sales tax will be charged for all venue rentals for weddings and other events. The sales tax rate for our location is 7.725%.
Walk-in elopements may be paid for in advance or at the time of the ceremony. No deposit is required.
All other wedding ceremonies, officiant services, and events require a 50% deposit at the time of booking with the remainder due no less than 14 days before the event. If a ceremony or event is booked less than 14 days before the event date, payment in full is due at the time of booking.
A 7.725% sales tax is charged to all bookings. An additional 3% processing fee is added to all payments made by debit or credit cards.
